Does DevPost expect users to use the discussion topic for public communication?
I would imagine that in these discussion topics, DEVPOST (is it allcaps? DevPost? devPost? devpost? hard to tell, and I'm worried that by miswriting the brand on my submission, I'll look foolish. Better add that to my project submission checklist...) could share some important metrics or internal knowledge about hackathons in general and devpost in particular, mirroring the hackathon tradition of technical workshops, Q&A and AMA.
Additionally, here is a stimulating discussion question that might be related:
Could we improve our hackathon experience simply by spending more time and energy on the DEVPOST page itself? Simply by interacting and engaging with all the bounty of tools that devPost already has, we can have more success?

Hi Tippi!
We love this forum post! I've worked at Devpost since 2014 so your question about the name struck me as a good opportunity for a company fun fact. Back when I started, we were still called ChallengePost. We ran competitions that were not only software focused. (https://web.archive.org/web/20120408175438/http://challengepost.com/ - it looked better than this, I promise.) When we decided to limit our focus to the lovely developer community, we rebranded. The team had a LOT of opinions on the matter of the logo and the capitalizations. In the end, we consider it Devpost but do not mind how you use it! devPost is a fun option.
We would love to see your ideas about spending more time and energy on the Devpost page itself! What would you like to see? What would you use? What can we do to make it more fun? There are some fun search options in the Projects view that may spark an idea: https://devpost.com/software
Thanks for participating!

Hi Stef, thanks for this answer and fun fact. I wrote a bit more about the "hackathon hub" ui update in my feedback, hope you get a chance to check it out :D
What do you mean about the fun search options on Projects view? Is it that there's an API I can connect to programmatically?

Awesome! It's not an API, but a page that has some more advanced filtering options that not everyone knows about. Telling you about it inspired us to include it in the workshop slide. This should take you to slide 7: http://bit.ly/3SyNwPU
You can go straight to https://devpost.com/software and click on the "Filters" button on the right side of the search bar. It'll give you some search operators. One of our favs is is:winner. It'll keep you scrolling forever!
